Over the last few weeks, students constructed roughly a 1/2 scale wing. The purpose was to provide hands on learning about the basic structure of a wing. Continuing with that objective, we constructed roughly a 1/2 scale fuselage to go with the wing. The plan is to finish off the airplane with the empennage or tail section of the airplane.
It is really cool to see how these kids got to learn how to build part of a plane. These machines are such a big part of our world today, and planes have taken us so far. I can’t quite tell what is going on in the last picture, and I’m curious. What became of this model?
We built the model in a manner in which it can be deconstructed and reconstructed for use each year. Thanks for your comment and question.
