CRX-MAX Arrives!

This week our Precision Flight Controls CRX-MAX Advanced Aviation Training Device was installed and became operational. This FAA approved training device allows students to log flight simulator time and credit 2.5 hours towards earning their private pilot certificate.

Flight Instruments

The last couple weeks students have been learning about the six main flight instruments commonly referred to as the “Six Pack” – Airspeed Indicator, Attitude Indicator, Altimeter, Turn Coordinator, Heading Indicator, and Vertical Speed Indicator.  Mr. Evans brought in some of these instruments for the students to examine.

Programming Quadcopters

The last couple of weeks, students have been learning the basics of coding to program quadcopters to fly specific patterns. Students are flying the Parrot Airborne quadcopter and programming the drone with the app called Tynker that uses basic block coding. The goal to develop the students’ understanding and skills in coding leading to real world applications of unmanned aerial vehicles.
